Mother's Day........don't give up hope!!!

I have been reading several blogs for a long time. One blog I read talks about a family who had adopted one child and is in the process of adopting another. Another is about a family who had lost a child and is coping with that. Another is about a woman who is so desperate to have a child. And another is about a family who tried for so long to have a child and their wish finally came true. She was born with some problems, but by the grace of God she is home and is doing very well!

On one of these blogs the writer posted about not being able to have children and I remember that feeling. It was the worst feeling I have ever felt. Test after test after test to find out that you still are not pregnant. It wears on a person and the hope you once had slowly deteriorates. And then out of no where, God gives us a miracle. And her name is Calleigh Elizabeth. And now I am ready to celebrate my second Mother's Day.....even more blessed than I ever could imagine. So if you are reading this and having troubles, just remember that God has a plan for you. It could be having a child in his time, it could be adoption, surrogacy, or maybe just being a influential person to a child. You could be a Sunday school teacher, help in a classroom at a local school, or sponsor a child in a program such as the Big Brothers/Big Sisters. God has different plans for all of us.......just pray and I will pray for you too!

This may even help you, it's a short video....

Whatever you do just do not give up hope. God has a plan for everyone, and sooner then later he is going to reveal your plan to you!

A fun day with Mom and a new swing set!

Calleigh and I had a fun day outside at Nana and Papa's house playing on their swing set......

...and since we had so much fun and we finally saved enough money for Calleigh(mostly from her Birthday and Easter) we went and got her new swing set! Here is what it should look like when it is all put together.

Daddy and Uncle Kevin will hopefully get it all together this weekend!

A busy weekend....and SHE'S WALKING!!!!!

We had a busy weekend. I know that some of you know that we have been having troubles with Andrew's truck and finally on Thursday night the transmission went out. I did not work on Friday nor did Andrew as we had several things to get done and we had to begin to deal with this truck issue. On Friday night we decided that we needed a break, so we went to a baseball game to watch Andrew's cousin Zeth play. He is a senior this year and this is his final season. We love baseball and Calleigh loves to see Andrew's family so we went to the game that evening. Before the game, the local greenhouse was having a open house with a big sale so we went a picked out some flowers we wanted to plant. The game was at league stadium, and if you have ever seen the movie "A League of Their Own" then you have seen this stadium a few times! Here is a slide show of the stadium:

On Saturday we we busy talking to Andrew's dad about fixing his truck and he is going to help us out.....and Andrew's grandpa is allowing us to use a vehicle of his until Andrew's truck gets fixed, which could be about a month! We were planning on attending a birthday party, but we were unable to go due to the truck events, so Calleigh and I planted the flowers that we had picked up on Friday night and also 2 new trees for the front yard. She had such a fun time playing in the dirt as I planted the flowers:

On Sunday, Andrew went turkey hunting while Calleigh and I went to church. She was dressed in the cutest little dress the she got for her birthday! And she is WALKING now! Here is a slide show of her new little dress and the video of her walking!!! In the video, she is with her Nana and Papa Hays and Sadie, thier basset hound who Calleigh loves!

75th Post and Administrative Assistant's Day!

Today is Administrative Professionals Day, and since I am an Administrative Assistant my co-workers(whom I love, BTW) got me some balloons and had a pitch in lunch. They let me pick and I did not have to bring anything. I picked taco salads and strawberry shortcakes......it was AMAZING!!!!! Here is a picture of the balloons:

I have had a good day so far, but I am ready for the weekend with my favorite girl!

And, did you notice that this is my 75th post? I did.....It feels like I have been posting forever, but it is good way to vent!

Hope you are having a good day and I hope that you are too! Thanks!

Busy, Busy, Busy

We have been swamped lately, so I am just now getting to write a post. We had a wonderful Easter with Calleigh. We went to church as a family(my dad even went!!!) and then we went to my parents house for lunch! We just had some hot ham and cheese sandwiches that my mom makes(they are the best) and then Calleigh got to open her Easter basket. She got a book, some clothes, some toys and some money. Then she hunted 6 eggs in the living room and with mommy's help she found them all!

We then went to Andrew's Aunt Beth's house for the Wibbeler gathering. We had a big meal there and then Calleigh and Emily hunted eggs. Since Calleigh had some practice earlier, she knew the drill this time and she was all over them eggs! She did not even really need my help! She got some money in her eggs and a new summer outfit from Great Grandma and Grandpa Wibbeler and a stuffed duck that squeaks from Aunt Beth. Papa and Gram Gram got her some money and a stuffed bunny and a little purse. We did not get to see Grandma Janet and Greg, but later they gave her some money, a book, and a little toy.

I had off on Good Friday and Easter Monday(my work celebrates both) so on Friday Calleigh and I went and met Andrew for lunch at Mi Pueblo, our favorite Mexican restaurant. Then Calleigh and I went to Wal-Mart and got Calleigh's ear pierced! She did so good, she did not even cry! I was so proud of her! Here she is playing on Friday with the remote....she had such a good time!

We had a normal week, nothing important happened, and then we got to the weekend! Andrew and I went out on a date on Friday night. We had a gift card to AppleBees's that we had gotten for our birthdays so we used those and then we went to Menard's and picked up some items for a landscaping project that we were working on. Here is a finished picture of our work:

My husband is amazing! He got up early with me to work on this project, and even though I am sure the he was not looking forward to it, he jumped right in and started working. After we got the project done we mowed the yard and made some more adjustments to our landscaping.

We have a WARM weekend ahead and we have big plans again! I am planning on cleaning out the garage, planting some flowers, Andrew is going to cut down a tree and I would like to get started painting Calleigh's new room! We are moving her to a new bigger room in our house! Then, we can have our office(her current room) back until we have baby #2, which is not for a while(at least that is the plan!)

I have some REALLY GOOD NEWS to share with you. In the past 6 months I have asked you to pray for my best friend Amber as she has been going through some rough times. The Lord has been looking over her just as we prayed......as of Thursday she is cancer free! Diagnosed at Stage 3 and now it's gone! Praise the Lord! And, she is adjusting to a new life, a new start, and I am so happy for her!

Another praise is that my dad had a colonoscopy on Friday and all came back clear! Yeah! God is filling my heart with so much joy!

Back on my birthday the wonderful people I work with had a party here in the office for me and I have been meaning to post a picture of the cake the got me......it was wonderful and here is the picture......

This week is busy...tonight Andrew has a meeting for his summer softball league(he plays for his church), tomorrow is opening day of Turkey season, so he will be hunting after work, Thursday he is working a baseball game, and Friday we are going to watch his cousin Zeth play baseball. The weekend is supposed to be warm, so we have a birthday party and then lots of work to do!

Now that I have told you all about my life up to now and caught you up, I hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Happy Easter!!!

Happy Easter to everyone! I am getting ready to leave work for the weekend! Yeah, my place of employment has given us Good Friday and Easter Monday off! 4 day weekend ahead! Yahoo!

I hope you and your family and friends have a blessed Easter! Take care and God bless! See ya on Monday!

Are you ready?

*****I want to start by saying this is not made to offend anyone or hurt your feelings. This is just my thoughts.*****

Wow, that's all I can say right now. I got the video in an email from a dear friend and this is crazy. I have so many questions for God when we meet. I am curious about so many things. I hear so many people talking each and every day about the last day. I don't know when it will be and I don't want to. That's all in God's hands just like everything else in my life. He knows when he is coming back. Although it will be a day of mixed emotions, I am ready. I am ready to be joined with my family in heaven. I know that I will see them again someday. I know that I am saved and God loves me. Are you saved and are you ready? I do not know what it will be like, but if you are not saved, this might just make you change your mind. It scared me and I know where I am going. Take a look.

With the Easter season coming up, I think about all that Jesus has sacrificed for me. Who else would go through all he did just to save others? Who else would put their self as a sacrifice when so many would not do the same for you? I love my Savior and I am VERY thankful that he thought of me. He knew I was just one of the people he was doing it for. He loves me and even when I screw up or make poor choices, he is still there. All I have to do is ask for his forgiveness and he is there. How many people in your life are there for you like that? He has blessed me with a life that is greater than I deserve. And for that I am more thankful than I can ever express. I pray that this Easter season everyone takes a moment to think about the fact that he did it all for you and me. I am not the prime example of a wonderful Christian, but I try each day to do what I can. I know that God has more in store for me. He is slowly revealing those plans to me. Maybe he wants me to reach out to a certain person. Maybe he wants me to teach a Sunday school class. Maybe he wants me to be an example to younger girls. Only he knows, but he is slowly opening my eyes and revealing the plan to me too. He's making me stronger in him, so strong that one day I am going to explode. I am gonna be whatever he wants me to be. Like I said, I will do whatever he wants me to do. Right now, it's praying for someone who needs me to pray for them. If you have a need, I will do all I can to help you. I can't quote the bible very well, but I can help you find a scripture. I can explain the things I know to you, but I myself am still learning. God is opening up my eyes and my heart. I am actually going on something in September called the "Walk to Emmaus", a place where I will have other people to help me in my journey with the Lord. These people are just like me. They have been where I am, and they want to help me be better. That's my goal.....to be the person the Lord wants me to be and follow his will. Whatever it may be. So let me know what I can do for you. It may not be much, but I am here for anyone.

I hope you have a blessed Easter and a wonderful weekend. Happy Easter!

Calleigh's birthday was fun!!!!

Here is a slide show of Calleigh's First Birthday Party! It was so fun and she had a blast!

I made all of the cupcakes for the party(98 of them to be exact!), made the pulled pork BBQ(it turned out great!), and decorated the building with a polka dot theme. It was so good. I made treat bags for all of the kids with bubbles, play doh, sidewalk chalk, and candy in them, and we had family bring potato salad, baked beans, chips and drinks and we had a good time. Calleigh was not feeling well, but was such a good girl. She ate her cake and threw it up(just because she ate too much!) But she is feeling better and she got a lot of clothes and a lot of new toys that play music and she loves them! Thanks to everyone who wished us well, who came to the party, who bought her presents, and who thought of her on her birthday! It was a birthday we will never forget! Thanks!

An Eventful Birthday!

Callleigh's First Birthday was one heck of a day! The day started off fine. Andrew got up with Calleigh(he's on Spring Break) and gave her a bath. They watched some tv, then came and met me for lunch. We noticed that she was not eating very much, which is very unusual for her. I picked her up and noticed that she was warm, so when they left I told Andrew to take her temperature when they got home. He did and it was high so we called the doctor. They could not get us in so they told us top take her to Urgent Care. I left work, picked them up, and off we were to the hospital. When we got there we found out that she just had an upper respiratory infection and a little fever but she was gonna be just fine.

I went back to work after dropping them off because I had some important meetings I needed to be at. On the way home I stopped and picked up her first birthday cake. She loved it and was feeling well enough to eat some of it!

Nana and Papaw brought over a present for her, which was her new train. She had already played with it on Sunday night(she wanted it and they are suckers for her little smile!) But, she remembered it and loved it!

She is feeling better today and hopefully she will be better for her party on Saturday!

I am not working tomorrow. I am taking off so that I can get all set-up for the party! Calleigh also has her 1yr appointment with Dr. Luff!

Tomorrow night Calleigh is staying with a baby sitter while we go to a Faculty/Staff Appreciation Dinner for my work! Good food...YUMMY!!!

Hope you have a great weekend and be sure to check back on Monday for pics from the party!
