12 Days of Christmas

I received this is an email from my mother-in-law and thought I would share it, since it's almost that time!

"Who Gets 12 Days for Christmas?"

Really now. “Who gets 12 days for Christmas?” was the question I was asking everybody this year. Everyone knows the song but who are these people who get a 12 day Christmas? I want a 12 day Christmas! Something isn’t right. I felt like the whole 12 day deal was a scam to make those of us who get one day—or a day and a half if you factor in Christmas Eve—feel slighted. I concluded there was nothing to this song.

I was wrong. Come to find out there is more to the song than I knew.

From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this carol as a catechism song for young Catholics. It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the carol has a code word for a religious reality, which the children could remember.

1. The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.
2. Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.
3. Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.
4. The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke & John.
5. The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.
6. The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation.
7. Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit--prophesy, serving, teaching, exhortation, contribution, leadership, and mercy.
8. The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.
9. Nine ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit--Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control.
10. The ten lords a-leaping were the Ten Commandments.
11. The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.
12. The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles' Creed.

Pretty cool, huh?

I am taking Calleigh to the Urgent care today. I called her doctor and he told me that he was delivering a baby and did not have time to get her in, but he wanted me to take her before the weekend and the holidays! She is just coughing all of the time and has a pretty bad cold. I called him on Monday and he told me some medicines to try, but they are not getting the job done! So, we are off to Urgent Care.

Today is my last day to work until January 5, and I am very excited to have time off, even though my weeks are busy!

On 12-22, I have to go get fitted for my dress for Katie's wedding, on 12-23 I have to go to the doctor, on 12-24 we go to Andrew's mom's at 3 and then to my parents at 6, then to our house for a new Christmas tradition. We have a little article called "The Meaning of Christmas" we are going to read to Calleigh before bed. On 12-25, we will get up, sing Happy Birthday to Jesus and open present at our house, then we are off to Andrew's dad's house for lunch and to the Wibbeler family Christmas at 5 for dinner, followed by my Grandma Hays' at 7. The 26th we are leaving at noon(or earlier) so we can get checked into out hotel, pick up Andrew's tux and go to rehearsal dinner. The next day (27th) is Andrew's sister, Katie's wedding. We will be busy all day with that. On the 28th we are coming home! Yeah!
(I hope to post some interesting stories and pictures from the 2 weeks I have off when I get back!)

So, as you can see we have a busy holiday ahead! I hope that God blesses each one of you over this busy holiday season! Remember, Jesus is the reason! God Bless!

Christmas Presents and others stuff!

Today at work we had a office party and presents were shared. I bought a candle and picture for Kasey, and Lauren got my small pink bible! It was an answer to a prayer! I have always wanted to have a bible on me so that I can pull it out when need be! I have a busy weekend ahead, with basketball games and others happening, but all of my presents are wrapped, my house is all decorated, and I am ready for the holiday season! I have been listening to holiday music and having a good time. My blog redesign has begun and I am very excited that it is going to look great! Not much more to write today, but I am sure I will have many things from this weekend!

17 days of freedom for my sister-in-law!

My sister-in-law is getting married in 17 days. Only 17 days of freedom before she is Mrs. Jonathan Gore! I am getting my dress fitted tonight with Andrew and we are picking up the Christmas cards I ordered. Andrew's Aunt Beth is watching Calleigh for the night and then his grandparents are keeping her for the day tomorrow! I am looking forward to spending some time with Andrew tonight, just the two of us! Below is a pic of the dress.....

I doubt that when I put it on it will look that good, but oh well! I lost 1 pound today at the Biggest Loser weigh in! I have been losing weight, it is just taking some time. I have lost 13 pounds since the beginning, which was 6 weeks ago. I hope that over break I can exercise a little and lose a little bit more before the wedding!

I have been checking the place where I signed up to have my blog made over and my name is 2nd on the list! It is getting closer. I do have Christmas break from December 19-January 5, so maybe when I come back I will have a new look for the new year!

I have gotten a lot of work done today, getting things accomplished always makes me feel better, not like my day has been a waste!

Well, I do have some more things to get done today, so I need to get back to work! I'll post pics of me in the dress tomorrow and you can decide if I measure up to the model(haha!)

Christmas Time and another tooth

Christmas time is one of my favorite times of year. I love the reason for Christmas, I love the holiday music, the lights, the decorations, and all that goes with Christmas. Yesterday our church had a community dinner and Santa came to see all of the kids. Calleigh did so good, she freaked out a little when I handed her to him and stepped away to take a picture, but then she was ok.

On Friday night, we had our friends over and we had some really good finger foods. I made a fruit salad, some hot and spicy dip with tortilla chips, and some cookies. Andrea brought meatballs and brownies and Brynn brought chili soup. It was really neat to see all of the kids together playing was really neat; who would have thought that we would have all been together with our kids? It's unbelievable to say the least. We do not buy presents, but we do switch ornaments. Andrea got a snowman and a Santa for me and Brynn bought me a Santa ornament. We had a lot of fun!

On Saturday, I had a party at my boss' house. We had a lot of fun there. We stayed home on Saturday night, which is not something that happens often. It was nice to get to be together with our family for a while.

We hopefully do not have many plans this week. I do have to go to get my dress fitted for Katie's wedding and pick up our Christmas cards on Wednesday. On Thursday Andrew's grandparents are watching Calleigh and I am sure that means we will be heading that we on Thursday night!

Calleigh also has her 2nd tooth! I found it on Saturday morning. This is just another milestone in her getting too big too fast!

Thanksgiving, the last Bridal Shower and Lots of Love

I had to work on Monday and Tuesday last week but I had the rest of the week off. On Wednesday I went shopping at WalMart and got some groceries for my Thanksgiving cake and for the sweet potatoes(which turned out well, by the way!) After I got home, we went to hang out with Andrew's sister Katie and her soon-to-be husband Jon. Calleigh had a good time playing with them and Jon's IPhone! On Thursday, we got up and went to my mom and dad's house for lunch. I fixed sweet potatoes and butterfinger cake. We hung out there and then we went to Andrew's Aunt Beth's house for the Wibbeler Thanksgiving. It was fun. Calleigh stayed all night with my parents so that I could go to WalMart the next morning.

I got up bright and early at 3:45, got dressed and I was off to WalMart. I do not shop on the day after Thanksgiving because I do not want to fight people for gifts. That just makes the holiday not fun and I do not go. But, my parents wanted to get Calleigh a portable DVD player and case, so I went to WalMart. It was total madness to say that least. No one got hurt and people were generally nice, but every now and then you run into a person and who was not nice. On Friday evening, we went and spent time with Andrew's family from North Carolina. On Saturday morning, we went to Georgetown for Katie's bridal shower(the last one!) and then we came home and started to decorate for Christmas. On Sunday we went to church and then hung out with Andrew's brother Kevin and his girlfriend Nancy. She is really nice and we like her a lot.
Here they are:

Last night Andrew and his step-dad Greg went hunting together and Andrew killed another doe; that makes 3 for this year. Here are a few pics of daddy and his girl with the deer:

We have a busy week ahead, with parties and cooking and so much to do. I am glad that most of my shopping is done, now all I have to do is wrap it all! Take care, it's time to go home! I'll write more tomorrow with more pics!

Things I love about Calleigh!

I love the way Calleigh kicks her legs when ever she gets excited or happy.
I love her open mouth kisses.
I love the super softness of her skin.
I love how she loves to feel textures with her little hands.
I love how when I walk into a room, her faces lights up.
I love how she does a fake cry, then looks to see if I am coming to get her.
I love how she is so ticklish and how she giggles when her daddy blows on her belly.
I love how she is so peaceful at night when she is snugly in her bed.
I love bath time when she splashes so much she gets the whole room wet.
I love how she loves to be outdoors, to feel the air on her skin, and see all the things this world has to offer.
I love just sitting back and watching her.
I love the excitement in her eyes when she sees a bottle coming or when I am mixing up her food.
I love how when she finds something that taste good she say "mmm" out loud.
I love her more than I ever thought possible.

I read a blog today that talked about a woman who missed her little girl. She passed away just after her first birthday. She made a small list of the things that she missed. I thought I needed to make of the things that I cherish right now, all of the things that I love about my little angel. These are just a few small things, but they are things that I love about Calleigh. I am truly blessed to have her in my life. It is so magical to me that Andrew and I created this little person out of so much love, and that God picked us to be her parents. She is living proof that God does answer prayers. I prayed for her for a long time, so no matter what you are praying for, never give up. God does hear you, and in his time and in his way he will answer your prayers.

I have to work Monday and Tuesday only this week. I am thankful for that. I have off all day Wednesday. I am going to help Mom clean a house and get paid about $25 and then put up my Christmas decorations. On Thursday, I am helping mom cook lunch for our family and then we are headed to the Wibbeler Thanksgiving dinner that evening. On Friday, I have no plans during the day, but that night we are spending time with Andrew's family from North Carolina. On Saturday I have a bridal shower for Andrew's sister Katie(this is that last one) and then spending time with my family. On Sunday I have a dinner with my grandma and uncle and aunt and then the day off. I come back to school on Monday and the madness begins with Registration week. I need to do some Christmas shopping and get some things out of the way. I have at least half of it done and I hate to wait until that last minute, so I need to get on that.

I am putting that Christmas tree up at school tomorrow(the on in the Cafeteria), working on some bills, filling out some registrations sheets early, getting ready for the December Grad salute on Tuesday, and watering the plants so that I can take a much needed break! Take care, I'll try to write more if I can! Hope you all like the new layout!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and sit back and think about what you are thankful for! I have been blessed with a good life, God is good to me and saved my soul, blessed me with a wonderful husband and an angel of a daughter, a loving mother and father, and many more thing and family! That is what I am thankful for this Thanksgiving!

Calleigh is getting her first tooth!

On Sunday, I noticed that Calleigh had been drooling a lot, more than usual. So, I wondered if maybe she was cutting her first tooth. I stuck my finger in her mouth, and sure enough, the bottom front there were 4 little points, the sprouts of her first tooth. I was excited, just because it is another first for her and we are very excited. She seems to be handling it very well. Not much fussing, so I am grateful for that!

My grandma has been sick for a while and would not go to the doctor. She was in so much pain on Sunday night she finally had to call my dad to take her. When she got there she told them about her problems and they did some test and a CAT scan and found out she has two kidney stones, one in each kidney, very large in size, and the left one was stuck in her urinary track. The admitted her and she was put on some strong pain meds. On Monday the doctor told us her options and she decided that she wanted to try the shock wave therapy which would break up her kidney stone. Before they could do that they had to get the stone out of her track and into her kidney so that they could do the surgery. The surgery was yesterday and things went very well. She is coming home today and she will go back for the other stone in a couple of weeks.

Andrew and I have been going through some rough times, not in our relationship, but with different aspects of our lives. We are facing these things head on, but it seems like when one thing gets fixed another thing goes wrong. Please just pray that things get worked out.

We are planning a Christmas party with friends and trying to get all of our holiday worked out. I will be getting in touch will all of you shortly about our plans and to see what can work with everyone.

I hope you are having a good day, let me know what's going on with you! Have a good day!

Yeah...

So, I have a few additions to my Christmas list:
-A Laptop Computer,
-Usher for Women Perfume

That's all. I got my feelings hurt last night by some people who were not very nice and inconsiderate, but whatever, I must let it go and know that they are missing out on me, not me on them! To make myself feel better today I went and bought a new purse(with a gift card, so I felt even better because I did not spend any money!) and I crashed the diet and ate a taco. Whoops! I got my pics(94 of them to be exact) in the mail for only $3 for scrapbooking next Friday and I am pretty excited for that!

That's all! Calleigh is staying at Aunt Beth's house tonight!

Calleigh has a dress for Aunt Katie's wedding!

On Saturday I went to Jasper to do some shopping. While I was there I went to the the store Babies in Bloom(which has super cute clothes for little ones!) and I found her a dress. It is black and gold and really sparkly! Here is a picture:

(It's cuter in real life!)

I also got her some tights, a head band, and some shoes to go with her outfit! I need to get her a little black sweater to go with her dress. I also got her a cute hat, I will have to post pics of her in it soon, it is too cute!

Work has been good. Andrew really wanted me to apply for a job that I was not planning on doing. I like my job, a lot actually, and I am comfortable here. But, my job does not pay much and that other pays about $9,000 more, so I applied for it. I decided that God is in total control of this one, I am leaving it up to him. We should always do that. Too many times we want to be in control and in charge and sometimes when we give things to God we take them back because he is not answering it when WE want him to. We should let him take care of it. He knows the plans for our live, not us. So, I am learning to let him take care of it. This is in his hands, I just pray that he does what he wants and his will is followed!

I have been more active with my church and I just joined two new groups at church, the social committee and the decorating committee. We had our first meeting for the social committee and it went well. Somehow they group thought it was a good idea that I be the secretary/treasurer, so I am.

Pray that God's will be done in our lives. We want to walk in his light and follow in his plans for our life. Pray that we have the courage to do what he tells us is the right thing and we give him control. It is easy to pick thing back up, I already want to. Give me the strength to let this be.

How are things with you? What is going on in your life? I pour my life out to you on this blog, now it's your turn! What do you need prayer about? What can I do to help you? Leave me a comment!

-A family bible with out name on the front
-A small pink bible I can keep in my purse, about the size of a journal
-A Kitchen Aid Mixer in a black or silver hue
-The pieces of the Willow Tree Nativity Set
-Scrapbook gift cards to the Doodlebug in Jasper
Or the following Willow Tree Angels or Figurines:
-Angel of Mine
-Mother and Daughter
-Tenderness
-Angel's Embrace
-Nativity
-Family Plaque

We have had a nice break from all of the hustle and bustle of our normal lives. WE have gotten so many thing done around the house, all of my laundry is caught up, my dishes are done, and we have been eating some meals at home! Life is good! Thanksgiving is going to be nice this year, due to all different times! One the weekend before and after we have one event each, then on the actual day we have a lunch and dinner and that is all! Yeah! Usually we have to go to 5 places on one day and this year it is so simple! I love Thanksgiving! All of that good food, and the Wibbeler family always has LOTS of dessert!

Andrew's brother is moving to NC shortly, he got a job there. So we have a new place to go on Vacation! But, his little niece will miss him a whole lot! But, the good news is that he will be in Chicago, so I can go and visit him and I can take Calleigh on her first big shopping trip on the Magnificent Mile! YaHoo!

Bath Time!!!

Here is a slide show of Calleigh taking a bath in the tub for the first time.
(Side Note: Avoid how gross the tub looks, it's clean, I promise, just really stained from the previous owners and I can not get the stains off! So, overlook that and enjoy the show!)

My Girl is getting big and Halloween Pics

My little angel is getting so big. Here is a pic of her in her exersaucer and and pic of her standing up:
We had a good time this weekend at the Bridal Shower(she made a new friend, Penelope) and on the way there Calleigh fell asleep with Tiggy, here are some pics:

She also had a lot of fun trick or treating!

We had a lot of fun last night as a family, playing in the living room, watching TV, and just spending time together as a family! I am working on a slide show of her bath in the tub, it was so much fun! I hope to post it soon!

Calleigh said Ma, Halloween, and her first sleepover

Last week was fun.....Andrew killed another doe on Sunday! While he was taking care of that deer, I was at my parents house cooking. Calleigh was sitting in front of the fire place, turned and looked at me and said "ma" as clear as could be. I was so excited I dropped what I want doing, ran and picked her up, and said "I love you, I love you, you said ma!" This was just a word to her, but to me it was the greatest thing I have ever heard(next to her crying for the first time, her laugh, and Andrew telling me he loves me!)

Last night we took Calleigh trick-or-treating to the Wibbeler side of the family. First we went to Papaw Jon and Gram Gram Betty's house, the to Great Grandpa Dennis' house, the the Aunt Beth and Uncle Earl's house(where we saw Zeth and Makenzie too), then to Jenner and Alan's house(Steffanie was there too) and then to Great Grandpa and Grandma Wibbeler's house! She is staying with them today, and last night she stayed the night with Jenner, Alan, and Steffanie. It was a shock to us, cause we were planning on bringing her home and then they asked if they could keep her. I was thrown for a loop to say the least. She has never stayed with anyone except Andrew and I, my parents and his parents. So, I had a little mommy anxiety going on. But I know she was fine and in good hands and they said it went well.

Tonight we are bringing her to OCU for trick the halls, so the kids here at school can see her. Then tomorrow night it is off to Grandma Janet's house, to LaDonna and Robin's house, to Sis and Jim's house,to Nana and Papa's house, and then to Jennifer and Brent's house, to Great Grandma Hays' house and then we get to come home! Yeah! I will post Halloween pics soon!

We are very excited to get to stay home on Saturday and spend time as a family. On Sunday, I have a bridal shower for my sister in law to go to in Indy with Calleigh, Andrew will be hunting, and then we can come home and hang out!

What kind of plans do you have for the weekend? Happy Halloween to everyone!

New ways to take a bath and a new car seat

So last night Calleigh took a bath without her tub...in the sink. She loves being in the sink so she can splash around. She also like playing with her toys! Here is a video and pictures!

Here are the pictures

She also got a new car seat, her is a picture of her first ride in it! She looks thrilled!

We are busy all week and have been busy all week and I am ready for a break. Tonight we are going to Andrew's dad's house to eat and so he can de-bone his deer, and I have to make a pie for my boss' birthday at work. Tomorrow night Andrew wants me to go hunting with him(can you feel the excitement?). On Saturday, I have to get up early, go shopping with my mom, go to my sister-in-law's bridal shower, go to a suprise party for my step-mother in law and then go to Kyle and Andrea's house. On Sunday, I need to clean the house and then stay home. I hope that happens. Let's pray for a miracle!

A trip to the ER, a wedding, and a pumpkin party!

On Monday we took Calleigh to the doctor for her 6 month well baby visit. She is 18 lbs 6 ozs and 28 inches long. Here is a pic of her at the office!

My weekend was so busy. We were going to go to the Zoo on Friday because we had the day off....but Calleigh was sick. She woke up on Thursday night(technically Friday morning) coughing very loudly and roughly for about 20 minutes. I got her calmed down and the next day she had a few more coughing episodes, so we called the doctor. He told us to take her to the ER, so off we went to the ER in Jasper. As soon as we got there we went right in. We saw a nurse first, who weighed and measured Calleigh. To take her temp, she had to put a thermometer up her butt, Callleigh did not like that to much but who can blame her? We then saw a dr. who said she had an upper respiratory infection and now she is on two prescription for the next 10 days. I had wedding rehearsal that night and Andrew stayed home with Calleigh. The next day, Andrew hauled off scrap metal and I got ready for the wedding. I went to the wedding and Andrew and Calleigh stayed home.

Congrats to Amber and Brent, the new Mr. and Mrs. Magruder!

I had the honor of being her Matron of Honor!

The next day, Andrew killed a doe with his bow at 9:27 in the morning and I was home with Calleigh. We got ready to go and went to the pumpkin painting party. Calleigh and I painted two pumpkins together.

Then we went to Andrew's dad's house and spent some time there with his dad and step mom. We went home and got ready for the week. Andrew and Calleigh watched the baseball game while I worked around the house a little.

Today, I came into work and Lauren made some YUMMY pumpkin dip and brought it in and it is sooo good!

Keep my family in your prayers this week as we remember back to 14 years ago family had to deal with the tragic loss of my uncle.

The next few weeks in a nutshell!

Rain, Rain, stay here for a while! I love rain! I love the way is sounds when it hits the roof, I love the way it looks when it lands on pavement, I love to run and sing and dance in it. It's the simple things in life that make me happy really!

So, I had a super good weekend with my little family. We slept in a little on Saturday and then and went and met Andrew's grandma Wibbeler, dad, step-mom, step-sister and her husband, and Andrew's sister at Denny's for breakfast and it was gooder then good, if ya know what I mean! That afternoon I did some things around the house, Andrew got ready and went hunting, and I dropped Calleigh off at Andrew's mom's house. Then I went to Evansville to pick up a few things and then to meet Amber for her bachelorette dinner. We ate a Logan's Roadhouse, which was great! I came home, and we watched tv.

On Sunday, we got to church just in time! After church, Andrew and Calleigh had a little father/daughter time together and I went to get groceries and other at Wal-Mart in Jasper. When I got home, we went to Beth and Earl's for a bonfire thing. We roasted hot dogs, made smores, played corn hole, and spent time with his family. It was fun!

Andrew had to work last night and a will work a little tonight and then he will be home with us until November. Not really though, because it is deer season, so he will be out hunting. Calleigh gets another set of shots on Thursday and I have to get fitted for my dress, on Saturday we have family pictures, and then on Monday she has a dr. apt. and Roo has a grooming apt., and Friday I have the day off. On Friday, we are taking Calleigh to the Zoo with Kyle, Andrea, and maybe Alyssa, got to Red Lobster for lunch, and then I have rehearsal dinner for Amber and Brent's wedding which is on Saturday and then the Pumpkin party is on Sunday. Oh yeah, I have a dr. apt. on Friday before we go to the Zoo. So, the week ahead is going to be loaded up with things to do!

On another note, I did make chili soup and magic cookies last night, so Andrew will be home with us tonight and we plan to spend the night together in our pj's eating and watching tv! Hope all is well with everyone else! Take care and God Bless!

My Wonderful Weekend

I had such a good weekend! On Friday night, we stayed home, watched Grey's Anatomy, ate a chicken ring, and had a good time! On Saturday, we dropped Calleigh off with Andrew's mom for some grandma time and we went to the movies. WE saw "Nights in Rodanthe", which was great, and it was better because I love Nicholas Sparks so much! That evening, we picked Calleigh up and went to Red Lobster with my parents and had a good time with some REALLY good food! Then we ran to Babies R Us and got Calleigh some new clothes(not like she does not have enough already!) It was a nice night! On Sunday, we decided to clean the house, make cookies and baked spaghetti for Andrea, Kyle and Alyssa and we ate lunch with them and spent the day with the new family. Calleigh got to spend some more time getting to know her new friend!

Last night, we stayed home cause Andrew was not feeling well, but he felt better after a few aspirin and a nap with Calleigh. I did some more around the house while they napped and then we had supper and watched some tv. It was a good weekend to relax!

Baby Alyssa is here and time with Calleigh!

Baby Alyssa was born on Tuesday morning at 2:19 am. She weighed 6 lbs, 12 ozs. and was 20 inches long! She is very beautiful and the answer to her mommy and daddy's prayers! She is beautiful!

After taking yesterday off to get some much needed sleep and after spending time with Andrea, Kyle and Alyssa, I spent the day with Calleigh playing outside, having a good time! Here are some pics of us on our day together!

We had a lot of fun, just mommy and Calleigh time! I have been blessed with a wonderful little girl and I love every second of being her mommy! God is taking good care of me and doing wonderful things in my life and I want to praise and thank him for that!

Hope everyone is having a good week! Leave me a message and let me know what is going on in your life!
