I have had a hard weekend. On Saturday Night, my mom called and said my Uncle was very sick and the ambulance was on the way. He was not responding to anyone and had just before been talking to my aunt. One of the last things he said to her was that he was going to see his brothers. The ambulance rushed him to the hospital and decided he needed more help than the hospital could provide so they sent him on to a bigger hospital in Louisville. Once he got to Louisville there was nothing that he could do. They put him on life support until my cousin could get there to say goodbye. After saying her goodbyes they took my Uncle off of life support and a few hours later he left his earth to spend his eternal life with our heavenly father.

Although I am sad that I will never see my Uncle living again, I know that he is living with Jesus. He loved God so much and had such a passion for the Lord. Everyone that you talk to says he much he will be missed and what a Godly man he was. He greeted everyone at church with a smile and when he said "Good morning" or "Glad to see you" he meant every word of it. He was a deacon at our church and will be missed by so many. Every Sunday at testimony time he would stand up first and say" I just want to stand up and say that I love the Lord and all the blessings he has given me and my family." It was that simple. And when you think about it, it really is that simple.

Uncle Jim was more than an uncle to me. He showed me how to love the Lord. He showed me how to love others. He was a great man and no one else can take his place. He was not only my uncle, but also my God Father. He always strived for me to know God. And I know that he wanted that for everyone he knew. And I do know God and love him so much. My uncle showed me how to do that. He will be missed but how awesome is it to think that right now, this very moment, he is hanging out with God. How cool is that? If I am a betting person, I am sure that God has appointed him the head greeter at the gates and when I get there it's nice to know he will be there for me!
